Artist Statement for Patricia Arribalzaga

· New serie: SELF-CRITICISM and AMEND(concept)

By means of this series I try to look inside myself, to find it and to show it to others. I try to tell how I get inner peace. By doing this exercise during my psychoanalysis, I found out that self-criticism has truly helped me.
When facing any kind of trouble or in order to find a solution, I make a deep introspection and try to look inside myself as objectively as possible… and I criticize myself: I get rid of all those fears which are the result of instinct, of the commands I received, prejudices; and I search inside the distinctive basis as attributes of human condition: the effort in favor of beauty and harmony, responsibility, respect the others…….I try to find what bounds me to the other, what make me similar; I try to take the other´s place and fell what the other feel and think what the other thinks. So then, I do feel that I can make a balanced decision. I can express it, I have elaborated it.

Self-criticism has allowed me to grow, to improve, to feel myself in peace.
It is a wonderful concept, both for the human being as an individual and for the nations understood from their idiosyncracy.

It is utopian to believe that the representatives of different countries could be self-critical and before taking any decision they could ask themselves if they are respecting their people and the people in other counties. Maybe soon this will stop being utopian, and we could all star searching a new Utopia.

Daughter of an Italian mother and Basque father, who lives and works in Argentina, in the city of Rosario which is known for its great river port along the Paraná River.
She gives up her degree course on Econimics and she totally embraces the creative world of plastic arts.
She has been pupil of Miguel Ballesteros, whose works are part of collections in museums of Argentina, Spain, North America, China, the Vatican; and she has accomplished a secure pictorial technique with a deep knowledge of colour.
The expressive strength coming from her work, recreates a cultural atmosphere which is the basic of her existence: the love for the Italian art, the metaphorical and suspended in time passage between the Andes and La Pampa, the solar colour which reminds the Mediterranean, the plasticity of imagination, the intensity and sensuality of the emotion: a strong message both for the eyes and the soul.

Ivana Ceccherini
Art Curator

My spirit is in a constant state of creative meditation and spiritual reflection, roaming through other planes and dimensions. I create from inner visions and emotion, difficult to present in words. I follow an inner wisdom &<151; an internal muse that present a seemingly endless stream.

In terms of style, I prefer to work in a, melancholic version of abstract expressionism Using strong line and contrasts,.
You could consider me primarily self -taught, an Outsider Artist, or Auto Didactic.
