My name is Peter Bircumshaw. I am a wood turner. To a lay person, this means I take a piece of wood and place it in a wood lathe, which is a machine that rotates the piece of wood. It is then shaped until I am satisfied with the design I created. I then sand the wood and apply many coats of gloss finish until I am happy with the total look (this process sometimes takes many hours). Now about me. I was born in England and did a little bit of turning in school. I didn't start to turn again until 1995. Since then woodturning has become a fulltime profession. I strive for perfection!
