Artist Statement for Patrice Goubeau

|
|
Only convergences of all my artworks allow to understand my artworks' vision: a single piece can surely provide a facet of my vision but not the totality of it. My artworks are like mirrors of life, where instants of life are fixed forever as everybody needs a mirror to better either enjoy full pleasure or discover hypocrisy.
I have always been interested by all form of arts. Even if my preference goes to painting, both sculpture and architecture attract me.
Suspension of time is my topic of predilection. I like to share my perceptions of the world resulting of the close interactions existing between the past, the present and the future.
Fascinated by light, colors and painting techniques, my mind appears entirely in my paintings. After a long period of meditation, I finally realize that there is always a passage between real world, fantasy and another dimension where life never dies.
All my paintings tell a story, a tale where the 'Suspended Time' is present.
Everything becomes possible, no more border exists between
life and death, dream and reality, black and white, sun and
shadow.
