Artist Statement:
Always in search of
unrecognized treasures, Billie
grew up in Los Angeles plowing
through flea markets, antique
shops, and trash cans. In her
father’s studio, (a kinetic
sculptor), and throughout art
school, she dabbled in
everything from blowing glass
to welding.
As a set decorator for film
and television, when a desired
object could not be located
and budget permitted, the art
department would fabricate or
if possible ‘fake it’ out.
Therein the desire to design
grew.
Discovering niches in the
market as an interior
designer, Billie started to
make furniture and accessories
with the intent of
manufacturing in limited
editions. Her pieces are
usually an homage to a
particular style or
individual.
