Artist Statement:
Michael J. Pasko is the visual artist, designer, and owner of his own business, Miracles In Wood. Pasko creates original visual art masterpieces through dissection of execution, specializing in wood architecture, carved exclusively by hand. Pasko brings a world of authenticity into a destiny of art. He has mounted a talent of true likeness, exact resemblance, and accurate facial expression with dynamic attention to detail. Pasko’s creations utilize the medium of wood with such compassion that the outcome is like an orchestrated vision for your eyes to see.
Obligated to dedicate his life to the majesty of an artistic destiny, Pasko triumphed over adverse conditions and has been blessed with a multitude of gifts, and “this journey” has been the ultimate test in his life. Pasko listens to the divine intervention of God, and then proceeds with the creations which have been revealed to him. Devoted on a path which would be his calling; Pasko had to humble himself and search to amplify his spiritually. • 2010: Intern Art Instructor at International Academy of Design and Technology, San Antonio, Texas.
• 2010: Participated in the International Academy of Design and Technology Annual Art Show and won “Best of Show” for King Tut Artwork Creation
• 2009: Commissioned to design a custom Prie Dieu Prayer Kneeler
• 2009: Commissioned to create Cyrano Debergeac Statue
• 2008: Commissioned to create King Tut Artwork
• 2008: Commissioned to create “WOW” Texas Longhorn Shoulder Mount
• 2008: Commissioned to create Prayer Hands as a Wedding Gift
• 2007: Frank M.Tejeda Statue on permanent exhibit at Bandera American Legion Post 207, in Bandera, Texas
• 2007: Created a “Texas Longhorn” Statue measuring 8’ x 8’ from tip to tip and entered into the “Best of America Contest”. Was voted as “Best of America Woodworking Artists”. Featured in “The Best of American Wood and Pottery” ARTISTS & ARTISANS Vol 1.
• 2007: Commissioned to create Texas-Size Jalapeno made from 200 year old white oak wood, in Bandera, TX.
• 2005 - 2006: John Wayne Statue on exhibit at Mama’s Restaurant in San Antonio, Texas
• 2004 - 2005: Life-size wooden statue of the late U.S. State Representative Frank Tejeda on exhibit at Frank M. Tejeda Energy Bio-Effects Laboratory at Brooks City-Base, San Antonio, Texas.
• 2004 - 2005: Spiritual artwork, “The Alpha and the Omega” on exhibit at the University United Methodist Church, Fine Arts Center, San Antonio, Texas. And, was exhibited at the San Fernando Cathedral downtown San Antonio, Texas on Father’s Day.
• 2003: Created the “Tree of Life” art designs for artwork and apparel. This design signifies mankind living in peace and harmony to unite the human race as “one race all on the same tree”. Pasko used flags from all the countries of the world in place of the “leaves on the tree”!
• April 2002: Commissioned by the City of San Antonio to design and paint “What Color Is Your Dream” Mural for an indoor Playground and Atrium on the walls of this four level indoor Playground and Atrium area for the Dwyer Avenue Housing Center in San Antonio, Texas.
• 1998 – 2001: Sculpture of John Wayne exhibited at the Buckhorn Museum and Saloon in San Antonio, Texas.
• 1992: Won 2nd place in the San Antonio Tie and Scarf Contest featuring “San Antonio Tree of Life” hand embroidered Tie.
