Artist Statement:
Many times I have been asked
for my definition of art. I
have often struggled to come
up with something clever, but
in the end, each individual
will have his or her own
meaning of art. I believe art
affects people. Art can
inspire and influence. I
believe art is a form of
communication. Art can
encourage dialogue or leave a
viewer speechless. I believe
art can inform. Art lets the
viewer experience what the
artist sees, what the artist
does, who the artist loves,
and how the artist feels. I
believe art heals. Art can
bring calm to the tormented
and joy to the disheartened.
Solidity to a soul that may be
otherwise paper-thin and
transluscent I believe art can
change the world. When nothing
else matters, I am an artist
because I want to make
changes, too.
