Artist Statement:
The Exploration of Line, Form, and Color
My work constantly occupies my mind. If it's not rapped around the piece I'm currently working on, then I'm thinking about the theory, philosophy, or history behind it.
I am in search of the image not yet seen. Each work is a puzzle that must be solved. The pieces to the puzzle are line, form, and color. The correct application of the pieces create a composition that I feel effectively express the solution to the "Blankist" canvas.

Much of my work consists of the representational abstraction of heads, faces, and figures in various expressions, and situations. At times these figures are combined with free form or geometric shapes which can lead to total abstraction. In this case, the subject can only be identified by the name of the piece.
The abstraction of the human body has a rhythmic familiarity and expressiveness to me that I find difficult to escape. I do, at times, venture in other directions with my work, only to return to this subject. I will sometimes choose the image to produce but quite often ...
