Artist Statement for Manimekalai Chelliah

|
THE ARTIST IS THE CREATER OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS
The passion for Art started in her childhood, blossomed during her two year stay in philippines and fructified when she spent six years in Hyderabad. Mrs.Manimekalai is a Post graduate and the mother of three children who are professionals working abroad. Though she made a humble beginning when she stayed with her husband at the International Rice reaearch Institute, Philippines, the real fillip came when she toured Europe during mid 90s. She could visit a few famous Art Museums in London, Amsterdam and Paris, which gave the real inspiration to involve fully in this art.
Manimekalai learnt the nuances of Art from Mrs. Azra Jamal of Colour Wonder Institute, Hydrabad, who herself is a product of JJ school of Art,Mumbai.
Though a late starter, her passion for Art and dedicated involvement has elevated her professional skill to an amazingly appreciable level .Her current interests are Old Masters paintings, Landscape and flowers.Having gained good expertise,Manimekalai plans todo art work on village and urban scenerios,community activities,natural vegetation and environmental issues. Her commitment and aptitude shall certainly pave way to make her dreams come true.
