Artist Statement:
I have enjoyed photography since childhood and have evolved emensly throughout the years. I have learned that finding your own style to set your photographs apart from the rest isn't a matter of technique alone, but one of personal vision.
While taking pictures I tend get lost in the moment, becoming part of what I am capturing. I try to be daring and show what I see from perhaps a new perspective. Most often, my favorite images are the ones that broke me from my ‘comfort zone.’
Photographic vision, to me, is a personal way of looking at the world. All of the images I compose have a particular meaning or feeling. It is my goal, then, to convey these feelings through powerful and thought-provoking composition.
A great photograph, in my opinion, is an image which resonates with your viewers and, more importantly, an image that reveals the personality behind the lens. Part of my soul is revealed with every image I present.
If I am able move a viewer with a photograph of something they see day in and day out, I have accomplished a great deal. It takes talent, vision, and creativity to portray with mood ...
