Artist Statement for Paula Wilson

I will accept commissions from life or photographs for people, animal or building portraits.

Artist's Biography
Born and reared in Kansas City, Missouri, Paula Wilson graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting/printmaking. After working in a non-related career, Paula returned to art in the late 1990's, becoming a member of the MidAmerica Pastel Society in 2000. Since that time, Paula's work has been accepted into several juried group shows and has started winning awards. In Spring, 2004, completed a Master's Series Figure Drawing Class from the continuing education department of KCAI with Michael Walling. In Summer 2005, partipated in a weekend workshop with Kim Casebeer, and in Spring, 2007, a week long workshop with Albert Handell and Anita Louise West.

Paula's two dimensional art works are primarily created with pastel or oils and feature landscape, figure and animal subject matter. Paula's work attempts to capture impressionistic and realistic techniques in harmonious balance, show the exuberance and beauty of life.
