Artist Statement:
My admiration for nature is
the foundation for my artwork.
I am drawn to the fluidness
of dyes whether it be in my
gourd creations or silk
painting.
The shape of a gourd inspires
me to a scene or design that
suits it, never to be
duplicated. Color composition
in my artwork is done with a
meticulous blending of dyes
for depth, pyrography for
dimension, and carvings for
contrast. My works vary from
sharp contrast to subdued hues
and imagery. I create most
of my pieces so each angle has
a different view and design,
which I consider my personal
signature.
I hope to share my admiration
and respect for nature through
