Artist Statement:
Working with images from currency, architecture and everyday objects, I’m drawn to the wonderful shapes I find in the details of the details. In them I have found an endless supply of interesting lines and patterns to work with.
I copy and enlarge the shapes, transferring them to lino blocks, which are then carved, inked, and printed to paper. Rather than destroying or discarding the cut lino blocks, I save and often re-work them. They become part of a library of material I use in later prints. Over time I modify and re-purpose many of the plates, just as I do the patterns and shapes they were created from.
