My work has been a continuing journey where my condition as a human being has been a major contributing source. With the passing of time I have felt alienated from the general behaviours of humanity and the culture around them. This has led me to a general exploration of my affective world and and my reactions are reflected in my paintings. I have also discovered that, like in life, when creating art it is important and natural to remain loyal to my instincts and to never go against my own nature. Painting therefore provides me with an exercise of freedom, yet I have often acknowledged that I am also attacking the injustices that I cannot seem to confront outside my creative element. While painting, I also recognize that a dialogue develops between the surface and me. Here, immediate ideas can be exchanged where reason and intelligence play a part in problem-solving.
Lately the painting process is headed towards a surprising direction. For years I believed that there was a subconscious element to my painting where I was separated from any thoughts, ideas and prejudice. I now believe that I am tapping into a universal energy that flows through me and is a part of my awakening process and, therefore; a state of consciousness. It is at this point that I feel truly free. Thus my art conveys an emotional intensity infused with color and form. It is a natural process that results in an unpredictable manifestation of a physicall reality.
As an artist this reality comes with a responsibility and an ultimate goal in mind: The experience of creating something wonderful and honest
