Artist Statement:
My work in both pen and ink
and watercolor painting
reflects my surroundings in
Western New York and Southern
Ontario. My landscapes are of
the intense natural beauty of
the area I live and places
I've traveled. My industrial
paintings are also depictions
of nature, the natural decay
of our industrial age and the
process of nature reclaiming
the materials we use to build.
There is great beauty in rust
and decay. I feel fortunate to
live in such a visually
stimulating area of the
country....

Opening reception with artist May 1st, 6 –9
Exhibit runs May 1st to June 20th
Patrick Willett, landscape and environmental watercolor & mixed media paintings at Buffalo Big print gallery. The opening reception is May 1st from 6 to 9. This opening is also the debut album release party for Juney Sunday. This extraordinary event is part of the first Fridays in Allentown series.
Patrick’s work involves the healing and renewing aspects of our natural world as well as the reclaiming by nature of the materials that we choose to build with. His paintings evoke the awareness of place that we all share.
Patrick’s paintings, landscapes for the most part, are executed primarily in watercolor, conte crayon and ink.
Western New York and Southern Ontario, especially permeate the work with a sense of place.
