Artist Statement:
As a mixed media artist and
papermaker, I collect and
assemble a medley of disparate
elements – paper pulp, paint,
fiber, words, beads, metal,
wood and found objects – in an
attempt to create wholeness.
While moving the varied
elements around on the board
or on the form, intuitively
seeking the perfect
composition, texture, or
color, I am symbolically
infusing wholeness into my own
body, mind & soul. This
spiritual journey is what
inspires me to create art.
As a modern-day healing
artist, a shaman of sorts, I
endeavor to instill in my work
the same attributes that I
seek to create in my own life
-- balance, beauty, and
healing. This is the vision I
have for myself. This is the
vision I have for the world.
