Artist Statement:
William Quellec,
William expresses his photographic vision through a series of set pictures called mosaic photography or photomontage. He finds his energy in urban landscape concentrating on powerful new and old architectural structures.
The majority of the series are digital and all the prints are numeric.
He spends hours concentrating, and precisely layering his patern to develop his photographic design. He enjoys playing with the lines or curves to create an obscure but brilliant new position of his pictures.
His process involves developing his mental idea before and after the shooting for the disposition of the pictures. Another part in this process involves choosing color contrasts and or black & white. He has always been very passionate about black and white feeling that it best captured his images, however as he professionally evolved he now uses a mix. This adds a totally new dimension on his work and creates a new brilliance that not only captivates the eye, but also the light. ...
