Artist Statement for Qun Zhou
|
|
|
Qun Zhou has been painting in Shanghai ever since she was a young child, where her drawing talent was exposed to and acknowledged by famous Chinese artists like Zheng Reng and Peihua Zhang. She was later accepted to study sketching and coloring under Professor He Pin Han, where she became the only candidate to be accepted by the Fin Art Institute of Shanghai University. After the intensive training, she was granted Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Oil Painting Studio and has mastered the systematic knowledge and skills of painting.
Aiming to obtain more inspiration and creativity from real life, she moved to United States. Further inspired by the symbolic California sunshine and strong artistic spirit of San Francisco, she gradually developed her own unique style, integrating the best from the Easy to the West, from Classic to Contemporary.
