Artist Statement:
Kunst Welt
presents
&<8220;European&<8221; Pop
Art&<8230;
Where does the unreal world
begin? Where ends the real
one? Is the meaning of
genuine and not genuine the
same as real and unreal?
Today the real condition is no
longer a natural one, but it
made place to an unreal
synthesized reality. A kind
of aggregate condition
surrounding us so vehemently
that there is no need to be
disguised as reality, but it
may present itself, in its
entirely artificial nature, as
true and genuine. The
artificial cannot be
considered as truth any longer
but it reveals its
artificiality as the only
reality.
Tights are no longer made of
cotton but of mineral oil and
they are called nylons. Colour
pigments do not come from
Siena but from Ludwigshafen
and Leverkusen, female forms
are, quite officially, no
longer of flesh and blood.
But not only the world becomes
more and more synthesized. Our
thinking and even our feeling
are influenced by fiction and
artificiality. We are used to
count in binomial series just
suitable to the computer.
There was a time when
depressions were treated by a
good encouragement, nowadays
you get a pack of Prozac.
