Artist Statement:
I have been drawing and
painting horses for as long as
I can remember. I started
drawing horses as a very young
child primarily because my
parents were very poor and
could not afford to buy a
horse for me. The fantasy of
having a horse of my own was
partially satisfied by
creating a horse for myself on
paper.
After literally giving away my
artwork for years, I recently
decided to attempt to try to
sell my artwork after checking
out other artists' work and
what they charge for it. My
goal is to always have fun
doing my artwork, I never want
it to be WORK, i.e., something
I have to do for a living.
So, I plan to continue working
at my day job as a paralegal
and do some artwork on the
side, just enough to make life
interesting.
I am essentially self-taught
although I broadened my
horizons in the past few years
by taking a couple of local
community education classes in
drawing and watercolor. I
believe this was the first
time in my life I was ever
shown any particular methods.
My art teachers in high school
just let me be and ...
