I am an Air Force brat and sold my first painting at the age of eight at a gallery in Madrid, Spain.I completed my education in fine arts at a California State University and went to work for a research and development company, consisting of 3 engineers and myself. I created photorealistic paintings of computer kiosk (hand held computer games.) We also had a little known backburner project that made the national news in 1981: Dragon’s Lair Laser Arcade. It was the first interactive laser disk game the nation had ever seen.
In the early eighties, I went to work in television and had a successful career as a visual effects artist /television editor. I remained in the field for 20 years. I am member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmy’s). I received several nominations and two International Monitor Awards for my design and editorial work on Stephen Bochco’s, Murder One, open.
My most recognized television design was the opening logo for NYPD Blue. Other tributes were for work with Dark Angel (James Cameron), Alf, Roseanne, HBO, Paramount, Warner Bros., MGM. Tri Star, Dawson’s Creek, Disney, Xfiles, Arnold Swartznegger’s Running Man, Budweiser Frogs, Honda and numerous commercial.
Two years ago, my work afforded me the opportunity to retire early and follow my number one passion, my painting. Thus, my story is just beginning..
