Artist Statement:
Inspired by four years living
in Australia, Renata Lledias
features a series of paintings
and prints based on events and
experiences of everyday life.
The gestures and feelings she
captures, convey the best
moments of recognition of her
inner self, intermingled with
a complete new culture. Her
work which is mainly
figurative, draws us into a
romantic, almost folk-tale
world and her Mexican heritage
gives a distinctive flavor to
her work. Most of her pictures
are joyful and colourful and
rarely enigmatic.
Absorbing all different
cultures Renata has found her
own way of using form, colour
and composition, to speak to
the viewer directly, not about
angst or pain, but about
positive emotions, with a
particular emphasis on a
woman's life.
Recently finishing The Diploma
in Visual Arts, she obtained
the recognition of her work
through numerous honorable
mentions and the Visual Art
Excellence Award in 2000.

feel deeply, it can teach me
the lesson that I need to find
new elements of recognition
for who I'am and where I'm
going, the deepest of these
