Artist Statement for Remko Leeuw
|
|
|
Remko Leeuw's (1974) action paintings show a great variety of technique and methods of painting. As Leeuw uses what comes on his path, the moments, the material and the people he meets, often take part or become part of his work.
Statement: The human attraction goes to the natural. If one creates something by thinking about it, the inner nature will be deformed. If one creates something focussing on the acting itself, the nature will already be in the work. If I don't think over idea's, but think and act at once, I will create nature. The creation of nature will lead to deeper satisfaction and deeper insights.
