Artist Statement for Robert Gaudreau

In my work I convey several techniques and applications in drawing and painting. I tend to work between figurative, abstractive, and surreal scapes in one part or in all combined, while in development, results in subject. I find in use from all of the above, a trigger to originate. In turn, revealing some human behaviors, and unfamiliar images along the way.
In a figurative or surreal state, I'm consumed with beauty, form, and adjility of the human figures actions and reactions. I like painting in a raw and natural snse, where clothing and accessories do not matter necessarily, to share a limb, or capture, to reveal a moment in definition of emotion and gesture like, in appearance.
I sometimes think of the abstractive view as a foreign language, in an image sense. I call an unfamiliar image. As would appear to a viewer of an abstract work. Abstact relative to application and technique, for me, this translation originates from many sources. Without using the common term manipulation. The abundance in material of life, and everything in and beyond, leave no excuse for a blank canvas or what to paint next.
