Artist Statement:
Painting is about wanting to
share something simple but
wonderful that might have
been overlooked. I am
interested in the way a viewer
can evoke an experience. That
translation from life to image
intriques me and this is
enchanced by contemplation of
what the viewer will bring to
their experiences of my work.
The application of paint is a
sensual experience. The play
of colors, the feeling of the
paint, the resiliency of the
canvas as pressed by the brush
is a kind of magic that allows
form to develop before my
eyes. Somehow with that vision
one can enter in. With every
brush stroke the balance of
the whole is changed. That
balancing act is an always
unfolding challenge, I want to
invite the viewer in. ...
