Artist Statement:
My studio is called Art and Alchemy Glassworks. I have the capability to produce hot glass, neon glass, lampwork, slumped and fused glass and cold worked glass.
And yes I do commissions upon request.
Here's a bit of history:
June, 1992 - September 1995
Apprenticed with James Grace, owner of Pendragon Glassworks. There I became familiar all aspects of Hot Glass and developed my own line of glass flowers.
September 1995 - May 1996
Graduated from the British School of Neon, Chatham, England. A comprehensive course on Neon bending and working.
October 1996 - May 1997
Worked at Kitras Art Glass in Fergus Ontario. This provided experience in working in a large glass studio in a business like atmosphere.
May 1997
Returned to St. John's to work with jeweller and stone cutter Bill Dancy. Together, with artist Ellie Cohen we set up an atelier for neon art, jewellery, sculpture and painting.
Unfortunately the building was sold for development.

I have been fortunate in that my childhood years were spent in the Canadian Northwest and in Micronesia , with parents who are avid art collectors of Inuit and Micronesian art. Thus I have grown up surrounded by native art and early learned ...
