Artist Statement:
I strive to convey the beauty, strength and magnificence of the human form and to communicate emotions through expression. I do so with materials that can carry these works centuries and make them as ageless as their subjects.
My methods explore a fusion of styles -- tightly rendered symphonic forms as well as more expressive, fragmented pieces. Both excite me. Melding the two allows me to capture emotion, while freely playing with focus, light and shapes.
As my hearing continues to fade, I see things in ways that I did not before; my tactile senses have come forward in an unexpected way. Creating and communicating thru sculpture has become a wonderful gift.
My hope is that these works capture a piece of our time and bring more beauty, thought and significance to our world – now and for generations to come.
