Artwork has always been a part of my life. I’m an artist with two backgrounds, fine art, and commercial art. I chose commercial art to make a living and raise a family. For the past 47 years of doing commercial artwork, I was able to inject the two schools of thought in my designs and illustrations for customer impact. In those years working in the commercial art field, I still maintained my fine art expression of individual freedom in my spare time doing paintings and sculpturing.
Today in my senior years, I paint; my paintings are what keep me thinking, dreaming, visualizing, and growing. There has always been something new to express or communicate on the canvas. I have evolved to a more conservative style while adding abstract design elements to stimulate the viewer. The viewer is my main focus in providing visual thought, acceptance, and communication. I consider myself a Pop Artist to fine art.
My paintings are conservative with figurative images combined with tropical scenery, the ocean, and beach images. Pleasing Images, scenes that may fill the viewer with joy, thought and emotion. I have tried to maintain this sense of design, composition, and vivid colors in communicating this idea. I do have this history; it’s my common thread, my background. I look forward to where all this takes me on my creative journey. I’m a Pop Artist communicating to the viewer with a pallet of pleasing images and color.
