Artist Statement:
All of my art is inspired
either from music that I hear
or images that pop into my
head unannounced. Sometimes
the image is there when I
awake from a dream, sometimes
it just appears. Often it is
un-formed but the aura of the
image is playing in my head -
popping in and out like a game
of hide and seek. When the
image is illusive I'll often
go and find images online that
make up the form of what I
need to create. I'm not above
finding a nice piece of
unlicensed clip art and using
it as the basic form of the
piece. In that way I can hold
the image long enough to
produce a piece.

The dolls often have no
pre-formed image in my mind.
Rather, they are beings who
develop in my hands. Gnomes,
Tooth Fairies, Dream Dolls and
Personal Empowerment Dolls all
begin as one of three basic
doll forms I'm currently
using. The persona they
develop is a mystery - even to
me - until it's finished. Then
I realize what I've created,
or at least brought forward
into the tangible realm.
