Artist Statement:
All of my art is inspired either from music that I hear or images that pop into my head unannounced. Sometimes the image is there when I awake from a dream, sometimes it just appears. Often it is un-formed but the aura of the image is playing in my head - popping in and out like a game of hide and seek. When the image is illusive I'll often go and find images online that make up the form of what I need to create. I'm not above finding a nice piece of unlicensed clip art and using it as the basic form of the piece. In that way I can hold the image long enough to produce a piece.
The dolls often have no pre-formed image in my mind. Rather, they are beings who develop in my hands. Gnomes, Tooth Fairies, Dream Dolls and Personal Empowerment Dolls all begin as one of three basic doll forms I'm currently using. The persona they develop is a mystery - even to me - until it's finished. Then I realize what I've created, or at least brought forward into the tangible realm.

music. I realize most people have a favorite artist who inspired them, but for me it's listening to music. I see the music as images in my head and then want to create that. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
My grandmother was and taught me. My mother was a textile artist. Then after my daughter was born I found myself seeing the images in my head again that had long been squished out by other things - work related things. Suddenly the images had room again and I needed to create them in the tangible realm. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in a small town on a bay. The water and the mountains surround us.
I worked in fundraising for a million years and then quit to have my daughter.
Although I have very little formal art training, I spend my time dreaming up new things to create.
