Artist Statement:
I've Been working with copper for about Five years. I enjoy its versatility. Such a wide range of color can be drawn from copper as well as hundreds of surface treatments through chemicals.
Texture and form are very important elements in my work. I find the textures I get out of copper to be limitless. I love its tactile, responsive quality. People can't keep there hands of of my work and this is a good response.
I achieve most of my colors from heating copper with a torch.
There is a large amount a spontaneity to this process which makes the work expressionistic.
I am currently showing my work at:
Jane Hamilton Fine Art, Tuscon, AZ
Pinnacle Gallery, Scottsdale AZ
Metalmorphosis, Bisbee, AZ
Earthenworks Gallery, LaConner, WA...
