Artist Statement:
My art works are a process of self exploration which continues throughout my lifetime.
My painting process is a form of digging through the layers or building out layers of the paint. The observer and I discover emotions, events, and even hidden figures that appeared and happened through the phases of our life.
The layers are metaphor for a basic human condition, what is hidden is sometimes more revealing that what is seen.
My style of work is influenced by the Abstract Expressionists in general and the New York School artists in particular. My art originates in the unconscious, and indeed in my work, the abstract paintings spring from personal experiences, striving to convey a similar experience to the viewer.
I see the Artist as a mediator between the observer and the reality. The artist put a mirror just in front of the viewer who experiences their own inner most feelings
