| Your Personal Biography |
I'm Dominican, I was born in La Vega in Dominican Republic. I grew up with my brother Jose Perez, he protected me and taught me how to protect myself. The reason that I grew up with my brother was because my mom left to Puerto Rico to look for a better life for us and I didn‘t even know if my dad was alive after a few years later when I started visiting him. My country was not the worst crime wise but it was not the best either, but to me it did not matter because I had baseball all my life baseball has being my incentive to keep on doing what ever I want, if the law permits it and if its physically possible.
I came to the U.S weeks after the 9/11 tragedy. Because I was with my mom and my brother things looked to be alright but they weren’t. the case was that my mom over the years had developed a case of mental sickness I call it because she fought all the time. But I think she fought all the time about everything it wasn’t all bad, because when I see people in the streets and they talk to me they tell me that they do drugs or smoke or drink because their parents always are fighting with them. What goes through my mind is “what a weak excuse”. after they tell me their life’s story I put myself as an example and tell them, how I never had no dad and right now is in New York with sons and daughter that are supposed to my family but I don‘t know any of them, and with money and all he could have ever asked for and my here with nothing except for my mom who fights all the time we have no money and my brother, but guess what I never smoked thought about it but never done it, never done drugs and people offer me drugs all the time I drink once every few decades or millenniums, but who doesn‘t. After I tell them that they just shut up and say nothing else because they just use their house problem as an weak excuse to smoke or do drugs. That’s part of my long life story.
