Artist Statement:
Michael Roosevelt is a
Philadelphia-born artist and
printmaker. He has an
extensive background as a
printmaker including study
with S.W. Hayter in Paris, and
BFA/MFA degrees from
Carnegie-Mellon University and
the Tyler School of Art, with
additional study at the
University of the Arts,
Philadelphia, and the New York
Academy of Fine Art.
His primary work is engraving
on copper, but he also
produces etchings, wood
engravings, lithographs,
linocuts, drawings and pastels
of a wide range of subjects.
