Artist Statement:
Fluid Art Works

We have been married for over
30 years and have been
creating a variety of art for
more than 20 years. Together
we have explored a variety of
mediums including wood, wood
turning, metal, concrete and
glass. Our combined interests
have always been in the three
dimensional aspects of
sculpture.
We first began to work in
glass more than 15 years ago,
working with stained glass.
Even in this medium many of
our pieces were dimensional
sculptures. We both found that
glass was the most challenging
and least forgiving of any of
the mediums we had
experimented with, leading to
further our desire to learn
more and continue to work with
glass. The success of the
stained glass led us to look
for more creative ways to
utilize glass in a variety of
art forms. The ideas for our
art come for the world around
us. We are often inspired by
the shapes and colors of
nature as well as the textures
and designs of modern society.
The latest art is created over
a period of days to weeks.
