Robert S. Beal SURREALIST Oils and Etchings:
Heavily influenced by the works of DALI, MAGRITTE, Yves Tanguy, Delvaux, Rudolf Hausner, Max Ernst, Fuchs (Fantastic Realism) and the philosophy of ANDRE BRETON my 36 year career in the movement of Surrealism began with early studies of E.Delacroix, the Symbolists, Pre-Raphaelites, Goya, Ingress and others. 'Internationally recognized as a master painter, the larger body of my work is deeply embedded in the Classical Surrealist veristic Schools of thought - Andre Breton.'Often parodies and intends to the often darker side. Ostracized by his community due to Anti-Surrealist prejudice, albeit accepted in Museums as a master.
"My own recent inferences and influences range from the 'abstractionist school of minimalism as such, the first generation of Surrealist Painters (Veristic and Classical) and the Etchings of Goya, Durer, J.Ensor and Rembrandt'along with co-existing schools of expressionism and pompier art." Primarily veristic and classical SURREALISM. Master Surrealist
