Biggest Artistic Inspiration Artist and teacher Ilona Royce-Smithkin has been a great inspiration to me. I've taken workshops twice a year from her for over 10 years now. She is a talented Impressionistic painter who taught me that the best way to portray rural landscapes is painting 'en plein air". She's taught me to catch the feel of the fresh air and open sky with an impressionistic technique.

Why Did You Become An Artist I've always loved to draw and paint, but when I moved to rural South Carolina to live among farms, ranches and forests, the beauty of the countryside overwhelmed me. I want to share this peaceful beauty with you. I want to help mankind take notice of the beauty surrounding us on earth.
