Artist Statement:
Life is full of miracles.
Creatures on the earth have
their own unique shapes and
colors. Their activities and
process of life are amazingly
intriguing and often they are
beyond our imagination.@@
One day I saw a butterfly
flying around small flowers.
It is hard to see any
butterflies in cities
nowadays. Or I overlook them
in day-to-day life. The next
day, I saw another. It seems
that they showed up
coincidentally as if I needed
to see them. I realized that
the butterfly can fly quite a
long distance and fast in
contrast to its size of body
and its thin and fragile
wings. Also it emerges from
its cocoon, which shows a
dramatic transformation
emerging in beauty. I am
amazed by its power and one of
miracles that the nature
exposed to me.
I tried to depict its
combination of vibrant colors
and varieties of brushstrokes.
