Artist Statement:
A good deal of my life I have chosen to spend in silence; this presses me to focus and fortify my mode of expressive communication into painting, drawing, and graphics.
My interests are problem solving and impossibilities; human error and personal politics; optimism and pessimism. It is my opinion that my artist’s statement is a political one. Revolution is my aim, although I do not believe in anarchy. I believe in finding decency in cultural values; bringing back old-fashioned obsessions with the simplicity and complicity of nature.
My art is founded on a historical platform, while implementing the playful and devastating extremes of modern modalities: the readers of books versus the writers of books. What I enjoy the most is imagining what people are going to say when they look at the work. What I work with, more so, is the technique of re-inventing conceptual modes and formulas of creating the image.
All works of art from all places and times have influenced my style of art. Fundamental stylistic structures such as line drawing and color blocking allow me to compose something special and dedicated within the framed space of the 2-dimensional surface. This is postmodern ...
