Artist Statement:
As an artist I have
experimented with many art
forms and styles. Painting has
become my main area of focus.
The use of line to create
organic shapes has become a
strong element within my work.
I use reality as a basis for
my images and once I have that
image I intuitively simplify
it, which results in a slight
distortion. I have been
working on developing a
harmonious color scheme that
represents calmness and
beauty. I use natural shapes
and forms in my artwork to
show a peacefulness and
balance in nature that is
often lost and forgotten about
in the fast paced lifestyle of
today. My goal is to show that
beauty can be found
everywhere, as it is always
present. I have chosen city
street scenes because they are
often overlooked but easy to
find beauty in. I look past
the complexity of objects and
show the general shapes that
exist and extend inward. I
find that when things are
simplified their true
character shines through; this
is what allows us to see the
wonder and beauty in paintings
as well as in life....
