Artist Statement:
Barbara was born in Bergen County New Jersey. She was academically trained at The School of Visual Arts in New York City, Vermont Studio Center, The Charles Cecil Studio in Florence, Italy, and Studio Incamminati, in Philadelphia, Pa. In addition, she was an apprentice to Audrey Flack in the 1970's. She continued graduate level work in art education and fine arts and traveled throughout Europe studing the great masters and their works. She has held various art administration positions, including the directorship of education for The Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, and as executive director for The Cultural Center of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She continues to teach studio art and art history to students of all age levels and abilities including at-risk students, the gifted and talented, adults and professional artists.
