Artist Statement:
Since the birth of my first
child, my
creative work has changed a
great
deal. My work has developed
into a
much more personal exploration
in
clay.

Currently my work focuses on
my
heritage as an
African-American male
and my role as parent. Like
most
people, this event caused me
to re-
evaluate a great many things
in my life.
Most importantly it caused me
to ask
the question, "what do I have
to offer
my children as a father? As an
African-
American, what is my peoples
story,
where is my "old-country".

These questions have formed
the
basis of my present work.
