St.-Lucas University, Ghent,
Belgium.
Master’s degree in the Art of
Painting.Teacher at the
Academy of Ostend, Belgium.
1980 – First prize National
Contest for Visual Art ‘De
Kelle’.1989 – First prize Art
of Painting ‘Auto Diez’.1991 –
Selected for fifth
International Biennal for
Graphic Art, Taipei, Taiwan.
Works are displayed in the
Museum for Fine Arts in
Ostend, Belgium,
and in the ‘Prentenkabinet’ in
Brussels, Belgium.In private
properties in Belgium,
Germany, France, the
Netherlands, Romania, Spain,
and Switzerland.
Danny Bloes works on flat or
three-dimensional supports.
His initial work related to
the trend of fantastic art.
The basic elements in his work
were made up of humans and
machines, which were painted
very meticulously and
attractively, with an
overridingly refined
figuration. Up until some
years ago, machines, as a
symbolic motif, were a
constant in his oeuvre. The
next series of works show
bizarre architectonic
structures and in his more
recent work iconographic
fragments of compositions from
old masters are confronted
with his own symbolic themes.
