Artist Statement for Serena Falasconi

|
I think Art is so pure even when it's dirty, i think it's true even when it lies and it's love even when it's hate. It's a gift and a chance that had been given us, it's not hard, all we need to do is to listen close to what we see.
I started to draw and paint when i was a child of four or maybe five years old. For me Art had been love at first sight. I would draw all the time, from flowers to landscapes, from trees to horses; horses were my favourite subject.
This is basically what i still do today, my first source of inspiration is Nature: plants, flowers and all the beautiful living creatures that surround us on this earth.
Even though i've travelled all over Europe with my parents and lived in New York City, i was born and lived most of my life in the deep Tuscan country side.
Together with Nature which is always present in my heart and mind, Music and God inspire my life and work. I do not define myself as a "religious" person although i am very religious ; i feel God when i walk on the street, when i cook, when i watch the sunset, when i paint: all my works are nothing but His reflection. His creation is Art, His laws, blessings and curses.
My love for what i do is unexplainable, it's my life, it's necessary and simple like the air that i breathe, like a Ben Harper song in the morning, it's the deepest connection with my soul and the loudest silent thing i can ever express.
To be able to share all i am and all i have is all i want.
To make them feel, to reach someone's heart through Art is the most amazing thing ever.
