|
‘These designs come from my interest in history, current affairs, the media and pop culture. Borrowing imagery from war and current affairs photography, propaganda and presenting them in a graphic way. In this world of immediate and total information, civilization continues to repeat past mistakes and atrocities. Relatively recent historical events such as World War II, the Vietnam War or the Gulf War seem to have occurred in a completely different age. After being viewed through the media, television, photography, books, etc., the effects of many shocking images have become watered down. It becomes an almost fictional tale, a story to be illustrated and interpreted.’
