| Your Personal Biography |
It is so easy in our complex and hectic world to forget the beauty to be found all around us. Just taking a moment to notice and appreciate the simple beauty of a falling leaf, or a mother reading to her child, reminds all to slow down and enjoy each moment. In the series of mosaics represented here we hope to create images of that nature that will cause the viewer to pause and enjoy the art and a quiet moment in contemplation of some memory of a similar moment of their own lives, and to share with the viewer our love of the common world and the quiet beauty of the everyday things all around us.
We are a self-taught mosaic artist team who discovered this wonderful medium after many years of oil painting and making hand pressed tiles. We especially enjoy the broad palette of jewel colors and the amazing effects you can achieve from the way the light plays off its surface. Most of our mosaics have an average of 1600 individually cut, and placed, pieces of glass per square foot of work. The blending of durable components provides unlimited design potential suitable for home, garden, office and public works. As an artist team, we contribute special design abilities, both abstract and representational, from subtle color choices to vivid hues.
