We are Carl and Sandra Bryant, a self-educated artist team, we began glass mosaic work in 2001 after many years of oil painting and creating hand made tile. Mosaic art is like painting with glass, with beauty and permanence. Mosaics are graffiti resistant, versatile and can be applied to so many dimensions; in sculpture, fine art, wallpaper, backsplashes, fireplaces, mirrors and whatever else your imagination comes up with. The possibilities are endless.

Projects, exhibitions and shows:

City of Tacoma Portable Works: we were awarded a purchase prize in the Fall of 2007 for the City of Tacoma Portable Works permanent collection for the 2006 work Beneath the Surface.

The Guild Sourcebook and retail catalog: we were juried into the Sourcebook in 2003 through current, and have been represented in consecutive retail catalogs since fall 2006 for decorative mosaic mirrors.

Thomson Higher Education – Book cover and chapter header art for the two consecutive editions of the textbook Wood’s Communication Mosaics: An Introduction to the Field of Communication 4/e and 5/e using Restaurant © 2003 (4th edition) and Birth of a Planet © 2006 (5th edition) Copyright Carl & Sandra Bryant.

Washington State Art Commission – we were accepted into the Washington State Artist Resource Bank in 2004 and received a mural commission for the Lucille Umbarger Elementary School in Burlington, Washington which was completed Summer 2006. The mural artwork is titled The Skagit and represents the abundance of wildlife, natural and community resources in and around the Skagit River.
