| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in Belgium to artistic parents. From an early age I was confronted with art but only took a real interest in painting at a later stage of my life. My nomadic soul urged me to travel first and I visited over 35 countries around the world. The main objective of my travels was to encounter new cultures and to get an insight in people’s customs. I studied languages to ease communication and became a commercial pilot (albeit retired) to ease my desire to travel. I finally settled in Botswana –Africa where I have been living for the past 8 years.
As a self-taught artist, my objective is to develop independence without being bound by the rules of art. I am undoubtedly inspired by various ethnical groups and the human body, which evokes and maintains emotions.

The second phase entails letting go and distancing myself. For that I use a broad range of techniques, like oils/ pastels/ inks and metallic paints mostly in bright colors. I sometimes also pare down my spectrum of colors to one single color. My paintings are characterized by figurative elements in abstract surroundings. I am going in search of the soul of the moment...
