Artist Statement:
The source point for this
current work is the chance
encounter with an object — a
discarded piece of metal, or
an old pop can, bits of
plywood or metal — mostly
man-made objects that have
been thoroughly altered by the
environment in which they are
found. These finds spark a
process of material discovery
which resounds within a
framework of carefully
observed phenomena – the wind,
weather, the tides, human
behaviour and celestial
events. I call this work
post-industrial folk art....
