Artist Statement:
Received formal art education at the National Taiwan Normal University with major in Art Education and Design, Siow, after numerous years in retail business as visual merchandising manager, now a fine art artist, papercrafts designer and freelance graphic artist with major works exhibited both in Malaysia and abroad. She was often invited to judge children art competitions, and to demonstrate recycle art crafts both on local TV and magazine.
With knowledge and experience in the paper making craft, she makes her own paper for paintings. Her creative talents, unique style and splendorous passion of colors are best evident in her works with papier mache and the artistic use of recycled materials. Her experimentation with handmade paper and crafts produced exotic effects, a celebration of the visual spectrum of light, which are not only delightful to behold but also fun to create. Her labor of love is a simple statement of her own personal belief in the preservation of the environment. From old soft drink cans to old printed papers, strips of leftover tea leaves, coffee dregs and plants to unused bottles and containers - it is all her mosaic in the creation of beautiful artworks.
