Artist Statement for Sir Tom Chewy

|
This work is a continuation of my interest in self-identity and the many ways that we can see and be seen. Sometimes playful, other times intense, these portraits provide a participatory experience. By choosing a portrait version from the examples, the viewer can commission their interpretation, thereby, joining in the act of creation.
These are post-modern portraits, in that formal constraints are rendered unlimited by the technology available. More versions will be added over time. I hope you enjoy the process....
SIR TOM CHEWY has exhibited widely throughout the United States, and received awards from the Ford Foundation, Creative Artists Project Service, Kitchen Center, Santa Fe Art Institute, and American Film Institute.
